What a boat trip to La Maddalena costs

The landing fee
La Maddalena charges a contributo di sbarco to everyone who lands in the archipelago, including passengers on boat trips. It is set by the town, not the national park, and it is the most common “surprise” at boarding:

Children up to 6 are exempt. On the ferry, the fee is added to the ticket; on boat trips, check whether the listing includes it, and carry cash if not.
What makes one trip cost more than another
- Group size. A motor boat for up to 150 people spreads the cost; a catamaran for 12 cannot.
- Lunch and drinks. Most of the difference between a €55 and a €100 day is a cooked lunch with wine.
- Time on board. A 4-hour RIB costs less than a 7–8-hour day, but you see fewer places.
- Private or shared. Private boats are priced per boat: split between six, a €600 RIB is €100 each.

Questions people ask
Why is the landing fee charged separately?
It is a tax of the Comune di La Maddalena, not part of the tour. Operators either build it into the price or collect it in cash at boarding. From June to August it is €5 a person on trips to the smaller islands; children under 7 are exempt.
Are the prices per person?
Yes, except private boats, which are priced for the whole group (usually up to 10 people). Children’s prices, where offered, are shown on the listing.
Do prices go up in August?
Many operators price by date. The figures here are the lowest “from” prices we saw in October 2026; open the listing and pick your date to see what you will actually pay.
Can I pay on the day at the harbour?
Some operators sell tickets from kiosks at the port, but in July and August the best boats fill up days ahead. Booking online also gets you free cancellation up to 24 hours before on most listings.
What does it cost to rent my own boat?
Rental prices vary by operator. On top of the rental, every boat inside the park needs a navigation permit: in 2026 it costs €2 per metre per day up to 10 m (so €12 a day for a 6 m boat), with 40% off for sailing boats and 5% off online. Kayaks are exempt.
